Update 04/04

Taits Hill Action Group attended CPC Full Council Meeting on Wednesday 02/04 to bring CPC up to date with their views on the application. CPC Planning & Highways committee will discuss the application at next weeks meeting (Wednesday, 9th April at 18:30) with a view to coming up with their response as a consultee. The Group will be represented at  P&H and then go on to the Stinchcombe Parish Council Meeting at 19:30 next Wednesday to update them. Comments are being requested by 26/4 on the application. We will publish more info after P&H next week and help coordinate responses etc.

An application has now been submitted for 73 houses at Taits Hill. If you recall, the developer was recently seeking comments/feedback on the proposal. The Statement of Community Involvement details the feedback but the rest of the documentation clearly shows they’ve only played lip service to it and have just gone through the motions and followed due process.

This speculative development in in the parish of Stinchcombe but it will clearly have a considerable impact on Cam infrastructure (schools, doctors, dentists, roads etc). As an ‘outline’ application ‘all matters reserved except access’ basically means that once outline permission is given they can change everything and what gets built could be very different to the pretty picture they are painting now, which includes diluting down the affordable housing aspect (usually the first to go on economic viability grounds).

Sadly, this will no doubt be the first of many speculative developments we will be under threat from. SDC has their work cut out.
