CCAG meets with Stroud MP

CCAG had a 15 minute surgery with our MP Dr Simon Opher on Friday, 4th April. In that short time we covered Cam development concerns and needs, nature destruction and community voice and housing targets. We left him some reading material for homework to provide more detail and importantly handed him a copy of Cam Parish Council’s open letter about our local concerns.

Our MP has no formal role in strategic planning or in planning management and control in our District.  However he has a role to play in holding ministers to account on our behalf on the benefits and adverse impacts of planning legislation, policy and guidance that drives planning locally. He plays an important role in advocating and supporting local needs and initiatives.

We will continue to work hard to make sure he understands those concerns, impacts and needs locally.
