Highlights from CPC Full Council Meeting on Wednesday 2nd April

Highlights from CPC Full Council Meeting on Wednesday 2nd April.

* Despite continued chasing, CPC do not have a date for the improved traffic calming measures to be installed in either Everlands or Hopton Road which is incredibly frustrating. A speed watch session was held in Everlands a couple of weeks ago. C20% of the vehicles were travelling in excess of 30 mph. A comparison with a similar session carried out on 28th February 23 shows a 378% increase in traffic volume!

* Progress continues to be made on CPCs proposals for the village ‘centre’ which will be located on Employment Land 2 behind Kerry Foods next to the new Millfields development at Draycott. The ‘centre’ will be based on a new health hub (doctors/dentist etc). SDC has approved money for the feasibility study which CPC is carefully progressing and now pulling together requirements. It was mentioned that despite several attempts to discuss acquiring the land with the developers CPC haven’t managed to have any meaningful discussion (no surprise there then eh?)

* Cam Parish Council Annual Assembly is scheduled for 28th May – more info to be released.

* CPC sent the open letter to SDC regarding their concerns for the draft local plan situation and also distributed it to other local parish/town councils. Some councils have acknowledged it and mentioned they will add it to their upcoming meeting agendas to be discussed.

Details of next P&H Meeting in separate post.
