Plans unveiled to build 266 homes on green fields in village. A spokesperson from Cam Community Action Group said…
“Many Cam services are already stretched. The A4135 through our village is a nightmare at peak times. Local employment development is stalled. Our nature is under threat. Whilst these applications were inevitable it is totally unclear how and when the impacts from recent development, this huge development and future developments will be mitigated and service needs met.”
“Social and affordable housing, both ownership and rent, for local people is desperately needed. Whilst 30% of the housing is designated to meet that need they are not well integrated being clustered at the western boundary and in a cul-de-sac so we fear they will be delivered as lower priority. We also fear this may mean, as so often happens, even that percentage is reduced as development proceeds with the builder arguing more market houses are needed to make a profit.”
